No notarization required if going in person. Take 2 copies of POA and all docs you can think of (passport, gc, visa, pio, OCI etc etc. etc.) They return attested POA at 4 pm same-day.
It's best if notorized, and so you won't need to sign it in front of them. Notary at a UPS doesn't take much time at all. Remember to apply online(select by mail, even if you are going in person as the in person option is grayed out) and print both application and the payment receipt for them. Also, they take away phones so take a book.
