Gracie, that's a lie. You can only shower in the morning or before bed. Not on Sunday unless you work. How can they get paid if their in a career readiness program a development program? These guys will lie to you and tell you the truth at the same time! Open your eyes up out here. Basically a prison people that are houses housed there volunteer/work like I said. They manage the bays, search your bags before you come in. Bags go to the basement to dry. Clean or dirty to kill any bacteria bugs ECT . and the lady that was doing that wen i was there slept in the next three beds over from me. The store that's in there where they cook burgers or phillys the guy lived in the men's bay and the girl slept six spaces to my right! Was she being paid?? Idk, I assume cause every night she was either drunk or high from the two dollar k2 or spice whatever you may know them by are sold across from Dallas life where the white housed are. Now it's a reason they get upset wen they see u taking pics

The people who are in the work development program do get paid and they do not volunteer. Volunteers come from outside the building to give of their time and do not live there. People are given all the toiletries they want and clothes and showers so they can go to classes and then get a job. Everyone at Dallas LIFE has legal government issued ID's for working because they do require one. They have people in the program in work development in the building as part of program learning job skills. The pay to stay people don’t work in building, they aren’t in the recovery program, they have jobs outside the shelter. The people in the program get training on how to handle a job and a boss and stuff in their program working there and then they have a job reference when they go to get jobs outside the shelter in the third phase of their program. It is a great transition for people who haven't had a steady job in a while to learn how to handle a schedule and a boss and co workers, etc.

That place is the Jonestown of Dallas. I'm surprised they haven't made them drink poison koolaid. Remember Jim Jones.

When i was there 8 yrs ago I had issues with some of the residents attitudes, like they were better than me. I was quick to tell them they were in the same biat as me. And most of the staff were horrible people that had been in the program there
