Don't ever go here the staff are complete JOKES they disrespect the people that stay here and look at you as being lesser than a human being and will laugh in your face if you need help I don't know who they worship but it is not GOD !

I stayed here a couple nights when things weren't so good. Sadly, the homeless person who does intake,(clothing, shoes) stole everyone's money from their wallets, or pockets. Surprised they let a homeless guy carry that responsibility. 60-sec shower is all that was allowed. Hope things get better. This was back about 1990. Different facility now. That's why I chip in every month!

I was volunteering at a community center on yesterday. IPS referred an outpatient to your shelter. The person was taken to the community center in error by the Uber that was ordered by IPS. The person was dressed in a hospital gown and had no shoes on a day when there was 107 temperature. The person had a referral letter in his hand . I called your shelter only to be faced with a rude staff. I wanted to know if the shelter had any transportation services for the person who was just dumped at the center. The staff person answered abruptly by saying that “we don’t go get people, they come on their own”. I felt that the staff person’s demeanor and tone was less than helpful. Thankfully, I was able to get a program that picked up this person for a shelter that was welcoming. If it’s not for God’s Grace, the person that answered the phone could be homeless and incapacitated. The fact that this staff person doesn’t know this is troubling!

It depends. If you're just trying to stay off the streets it's a night to night thing like most places. However if you're genuinely trying to recover they have a mentor program that can last a long time.
Call and find out what hours to drop off items and the protocols.God will bless you abduntaly.
Say man go to the VA to building 71 and ask about there Programs.

There are several programs available at the Union Gospel Mission the one I just completed was for the veterans but placement there comes from building 55 at the VA HOSPITAL, ANOTHER PROGRAM IS THE DECIPLE SHIP PROGRAM THIS GOES THROUGH THE CHAPLIN, THEN OF COURSE THE SENIORS AGAIN THREW YHE CHAPLAINCY
I believe it's no more that 15 pounds per locker
This shelter is for men there is one in downtown Dallas thats a family shelter
Look up their website to find their woman's shelter.
The ideal is for the homeless to save x amount of dollars during thier internment so has to have wnough to transcend back into the working class etc
No
I don't speak Spanish, but if you can get an interpreter then you'll be read this. I'm currently living at the Union Gospel Mission Shelter they have bible classes all through the day weekly as some are mandatory and others aren't, you have 2 choices of sitting through the day outside under the tent and or inside as you can charge your phone, lift weights an make new friends. Upstairs is off limits until 8pm after chapel until they wake the people who choose to have jobs at 5am, those who don't work get woken at 6:30am and all need to vacate by 7:30am
Let's just say, I don't have any knowledge of that. Yes I've heard of it, would like to get one too, but it's not spoken of. They do have used cars that they sell, maybe at a discount to those in need but I'm not well informed as to the stipulations. Feel free to call and ask for Mike, he's over that department. Hope this helps. God bless.
Hello. I'm a Disciple of about 8 months and I will try to answer your question/issue concerning the Union Gospel Mission: Yes indeed, the bed bug problem was resolved several months ago, so there are no worries there. As far as the "Senior" that was kicked out in the rain, I'm not aware of that particular incident. Yet I can assure you that, if a Chaplain was involved, they well follow protocol after grace and mercy has been exhausted; ergo there must have been a good reason- to prevent a disruption via one or more serious infractions, or an unsafe condition, to warrant an expulsion from the facility. No staff member or chaplain is allowed to write their own rules or act in the way that they feel- just because; protocols must be followed, and the only leeway given is are grace and mercy- period. I believe that you may not be privy to the full story, or have actually witnessed the entire incident. But that's okay, that is a natural human response. I hope this helps. Blessings.
That is a good question I will have to research
9 miles
No, you don't actually have to leave the mission throughout the day. But, if you do leave your have to be back in the door by 6pm.
In the past, from me, they have picked up a refrigerator, couch and mattresses.
No ideal
Sure
Did it work out for your son
No they dont.
No this a Male facility
Yes, as Thaddeus said, start at the Bridge. The program is Christian based and lasts about a year.
No ma'am!Union Gospel Mission is a homeless shelter for men only..We have a sister shelter in Dallas called Center of Hope who houses women and children..The Bridge houses couples..
Rhonda, i think Austin Shelter may also be able to help you.
Not at this one. The salvation army off Harry Hines five minutes away from there could better assist you with that
Where could I go tonight? What time bridge place open in the morning?
They moved from the old location about 6 years to the current location.
Absolutely not! They literally lock the men in at night.
There's no charge to stay at the present time.
Four months with a one month extention

Yes . You can park in the driveway right out front .
Contact the Chapolin. He can and will give you all the correct information that you need .
Call the Chaplin. He can get you directed to the correct facility to take care of all your needs . It is a great place to get help to restore you where you need to be .
You have to do a intake at The Bridge shelter and they will transfer you there. They start their intake about 3pm.
Have you gotten on your feet yet
Union gospel mission is for the homeless. They have a men and women shelter. They don't rent room out
If you have the motivation to do so, consider Advocating for the homeless. If you have the time to do so, consider volunteering at UGM (or a similar nonprofit if UGM is to far away from where you live). If you have money or goods, consider donating to UGM (or a similar nonprofit if UGM is to far away from where you live). You can also keep an eye out for people in need. Help them yourself if you can. Refer them to UGM (or a similar nonprofit if UGM is to far away from where you live) or a whatever type of agency is appropriate to help them.
