Anybody know why I paid for the gun before the background? I figured background check would be first then the purchase, due to past incidents I’m on a delay, but I never had to purchase the gun before my background check.

Because if you didn't pay for your weapon first, there are certain people that would go in to a store and waste the sale people time and the State time. Meaning that it would take longer to do a background check, just because they could.
