As usual. Fern got me in and fixed me right up. Can't say enough about these folks.

Fern was the mechanic that helped me and he tuned up my pivot and fixed my bike wheel where another prominent bike shop said I needed a new one. Honesty and good work, hard to find but I found it here!

I have used 4 bike shops in the San Antonio area in 3 years. Only 1 stand out in my mind as extraordinary. Shawn with Crossroad Bikes went out of his way to help me get my sons race bike ready for the Regionals and Nationals that were coming up. Having just done a major tear down for cleaning and chain waxing I took the bike to another shop for re-cabling and adjustment. When I got the bike back from the other shop it was off a bit and not shifting well. I was not told of the issue until I called the shop and asked about the rough shifting. I was told that the bike needed a new set of OEM jockey wheels and that would take care of the problem. A new set was purchased and installed. This did not correct the problem at all. The bike was raced at Regionals where my son took 1st place. Of coarse, the bike was not shifted much unless absolutely necessary. At this point, a very helpful engineer did a great job getting my son fitted on his bike to make him extremely arrow and comfortable in his arrow position for long periods of time. That was really helpful but required a longer stem and all new cabling done to the bike. I took the bike back to the same shop to get the cabling redone because the Nationals were coming up. He refused saying that he was too busy. At this point I was frantic to find someone that would do the re-cabling so my son could race in Georgia. I was recommended by a friend to try Crossroad Bikes on Military Highway. I went there in a hurry knowing that I had 2 problems to deal with shifting and cabling. I talked to Shawn and he gets it. After talking to him for a half hour he said bring it in and we will get it race ready immediately. I really felt better about the situation and went to the house to get the bike. Shawn not only did a great job on the cabling but found 2 issues that the other shop missed or did not address. He found one of the chain rings were put back on backwards by me and I had crossed the cable housing inside the the bike tube. After working on it for a day and a half, the bike was finally race ready for real. My son ran it in the Nationals and placed 40th in a field of 891 participants. Not bad for a first time and will be better next year. As for Crossroad Bikes, I think this will be a lasting relationship. Shawn and his team care about their customers. Shawn is intuitive and able to diagnose problems that eludes other mechanics. Best of all he is willing to get in there and figure it out. I feel that I found people that I can trust and are not just there to take my money. I could tell you who not to go to but it is a whole lot easier to give you the name of someone you can trust to get the job done right the first time. Crossroad Bikes is the only name you need to know.
