The test is open book, but it helps to review as head of time. Go here to download a copy of the manual. https://dld.utah.gov/ Also, you can schedule an appt online, too; although every time I've gone in, I've never had an appt and never waited longer than 20 min.
Utah separates it's car registration from it's drivers licence. You will need to go to a drivers licence office. There is one in orem, and one in provo (at a different location) . They require: birth cert, 2 bills that show address, previous licence, 27$, and you will need to take the written exam.
