You can probably go fishing if you want, but there won't be much catching.
The only access to water is at the very beginning of the trail by the creek and towards/at the end when you cross two creeks and get to the waterfall. Didn't notice any fish in any location as the water is fairly shallow - don't know if it is allowed either. It's about 1hr 20min hike each way (depending on pace) so plan about 3 hours if you want to enjoy the waterfall for a bit at the end.
I'm not sure about fishing. But, the hike is about 6mi (a little less) depending on where you park. I'd plan on a 1hr 30min-2hr hike. Not much shade until mile 2. Absolutely gorgeous views! Highly recommend getting there early Fri-Sun because it is such a popular hike.
The hike is about 1 hour and 40 minutes. Not sure about fishing accessibility.
