The toll is paid by mail. A picture is taken of the vehicle's license plate and a bill is sent to the registered address.

Using EZ pass like they said, is the easiest thing. You register and the money comes out of your credit card. When your balance greets low, it will automatically replenish (meaning they will take out more funds). It is all based on usage the way they determine how much to take out. Just hold your ez pass under rear view mirror as you go through. You will see a screen that says Go EZ pass or Ez paid.

E-ZPass also provides a discount. Staten Island residents have a 50% discount EZ Pass. Those living in other areas have limited discounts at certain times.
