The post office does not guarantee delivery on priority mail anymore. I found that out when it took 8 days to get a paycheck that was sent to me from a previous employer in a priority mail envelope. The post office clerk they only guaranteed delivery if I'd have spent $25 for express delivery.
Depending on where it came from, it could be delayed because of the weather.
