How sad that history is being destroyed. That was such a beautiful place to stay. I wanted to come to NYC and stay there, now I will just find somewhere else to go. My husband has never been to NYC other then to drive through it and I was wanting to bring him there to stay at the Waldorf and see a rockette show live and do some off the other tourist things. Oh well. I would like to say I wish the new owners the best, but I would be lying. I don’t want to see anyone hurt, but, I really don’t want to see them be successful in their endeavor. People just have no respect for history.
The Waldorf is closed! It's last night open was 02/27/17. The new owners are changing it into condos, and about 140 hotel rooms. It will not reopen till sometime in the Spring/Summer of 2020. You can contact Hilton Hotels for more information.

It's currently closed for refurbishment. It will reopen again in 2020. It's not quite clear how the new configuration of apartments and hotel rooms will work.
