You can show up but keep in mind this takes few hours to see the entire thing and they close at 5pm I believe ..So if you are planning a evening visit you must go at least by 3 or 2pm..and there is a gravity centre ( I am not sure the name) next to the space shuttle and there is always queue there , so keep some time for that too in mind...it's worth seeing this place...
you can just arrive, we did & no queues last week for us on a Wednesday
