Because one is an Express that only stops @ state line, while the other makes several other stops along the way. And this is for LA-PHX as well as PHX-LA
Departures from Phoenix AZ to UTA today
Bus lines have always been strange little animals; however, bus lines adhere to a more stringent schedule much like railway systems. Add to that additional cost of routes which don't travel in straight line or linear fashion. Therefore, in the interest of efficiency, each route must lend credence to purposeful utilization along its course. This may include freight drop and pickup, fuel availability and of course the population served; which, dictate location of said route. The fleet size may also contribute to why a stop exists where it does or does not. Even a hub as large as Phoenix still may only have 1 bus per route in a given 24 hour period; that route as major as it seems may have deviations along its course, which offer service to communities only every other day, and then only in one direction. This would require a passenger to travel for a short leg in the opposite direction than the destination, and transfer to 1 or more buses which travel the route of the destination.
I dont know. Greyhound is very screwed up. I would advise taking a bus to Tucson and then AMTRAK to LA.
If you get on the bus in Los Angeles going towards Phoenix. The bus stops in San bernadino to pick up more passengers. If you decide to take a smoke break and get off the bus. They reboard you first back on and then you head towards Phoenix. The only way you will have to board in san bernadino is if you just brought a ticket from Los Angeles to san bernadino.
