I see pictures of open camp fires and the sing says no fires. So can you have an open fire with the permit

Not currently. The California Campfire Permit only covers propane stoves (or other things with a valve). Despite the name of the permit all wood and charcoal burning is prohibited on BLM lands in Keysville. You can call the BLM Bakersfield Office for details of check their website.
