Rescue workers also recommend posting on Nextdoor, Facebook, Craigslist- really any social media that you can find and contacting all local vets (within you neighborhood area) to give a heads up in case someone brings a (possibly injured, or found) animal in. Yes a person could have taken the cat to animal control. And if taken to a vet.... the vet could have called animal control. Don't call as it goes to a call center not located at animal control. You need to go down. State law requires they to only hold the animals 72 hours before they can be adopted out or transferred to rescue
