Is it possible l was issued fake payment receipts in this hospital because they can no longer trace my records and payments made in early 2015. It’s really frustrating and a very total embarrassment how an institution like this can not keep records!

Maybe you should contact the records department. I highly doubt they would issue fake records especially being that's illegal and they're still open. Also you should have a copy of your information as well thru your insurance

Wellstar has had the MyChart for several years for making payments besides calling directly. It has not happened to me with Wellstar but I have received medical bill statements from billing claiming to be from Grady two weeks after I actually had a visit. What raised suspicion was that the hospital will not bill you two weeks after a visit to claim a payment is due. I never made that payment and I have never received another bill. All that to say, hopefully you made the payments to the correct people.
