New York is actually a very safe city. There are people everywhere in New York so your pretty safe. Just avoid North Woods at night.

people always think it is dangerous, but it is not. when I vacationed in NYC for spring break 2018, the only danger was near Rockefeller center probably, this one crazy man in his late 40s or early 50s, shouting and swearing at everybody. nothing really too dangerous to worry about. he didn't really come up to people and attack them or anything like that.

No, of course like all cities it has its dangers, but I have been there for fifteen magnificent days, I have moved by subway and I have even been to Central Park at night ,,,, nothing ever happened! I felt safe from the first day I set foot in NYC!
No it's not I moved to Harlem in October 2018 and I have lived in lots of places.and I feel safer in New York City then in other place. Just like any place you need to pay attention to your surroundings.
