Who else remembers it being on Ellis Island before??? I’m not the only one right...?

Never on Ellis Island

It was never on Ellis.... The confusion is the ships passed the statue coming into the harbor and Google maps are screwed up on the Street view. Immigrants would recount their arrival as saying they saw the statue upon arrival, but this was when they passed it and then quickly turned into the Ellis water way to dock. Generally speaking most people do not distinguish the difference between Ellis and liberty island because of their proximity to one another.
