You do not have to walk around all over you can ride the open.air shuttle little trolley card they ride ok and you can. Chosse to get off when you want to.. See beautiful key points . There are guides along your wonderful journey. To explain why each person and monument is where it is. Its an amazing place. You can hop back on another shuttle when ever you want.
Every time I come, Arlington always ends up as a day trip. Definitely bring good shoes and water, and bring a hat too. Arlington is huge and if you want to make a dent in it, expect to feel very tired at the end of the day.
Get the map of the cemetery. Then deside what you want to see. Its a lot of walking and some steep hills. Bring good walking shoes and some bottled water DC is very hot this time of the year
At least an hour or so. Especially if you plan on walking. There is transportation inside the cemetery.
I would say plan to be there at least a few hours. The cemetery is huge and walking around to see the landmarks takes a while. Make sure to get a map from the desk!
