The day room is used for daily prayer, about an hour, staff meetings with participants for housing applications, medical pickup, clothes closet, job info and discussion about house rules. When you enter the building, security has to frisk you and examine your bags all your bags, laundry clothes, shoes and boots, discard food before you're allowed to go into the day room.
In the dayroom is where the transients sit until is times to eat and bedtime there is a tv in there and all they also have a computer room down there for transients it holds up to 100+ transients it comfortable and quiet but you can go in and out as you please but you have to be back in by bedtime
That's a question you should ask to whoever you're talking to about Pacific garden mission, who's making this comment.
Do not stay here........ last resort.
I stayed here for 5 days. I didn't have body lice when I got here but I did when I left. Your supposed to shower but half the people just act like they shower change into the night clothes and get into bed. When you get bedding its not folded just in a bin. I think some days bedding doesn't get washed and the lice are passed from one to another. Food was rotten. They get outdated salads t that some of it is past eating but you just have to pick the best one. I counted. From morning to night 8 church services a day. I was there one time for 5 days. I have never seen anything this bad . IV e cooked for a day shelter for several years and you dont have to have conditions this bad. This place is more about getting donations than helping people. Dont go here.
I Don't Work There But FYI A Day Room Is A Room That Is Used For Activities And Recreation In A Institution For The Patients And Staff
