Filthy environment staff is very rude, blood on mattresses, children there are all sick with bad coughs, bathrooms are disgusting, no privacy, the head director has a VERY NASTY attitude cusses people out, I wouldn’t suggest this place to anybody. Go at your own risk! I tried to warn y’all

Former client who found housing 4 years ago. During my time there, the only people who had problems were the ones who thought the shelter was going to do all the work in finding housing
I was hungry once and went in person and asked if I could volunteer in the kitchen for a meal and they allowed me to after everyone else was served and it was a great experience. Wonderful staff and volunteers!
Do they accept women over 60? is there a waiting list

There usually is no waiting list if you go through the emergency room at hospital and tell them you're homeless and looking for shelter. Yes women, men and children of all ages.
Couples with children can be house together. Couples without children can be housed on an individual basis.

I just moved to Chicago and am homeless by myself and know barely anything as far as services that can help me. I'm sitting here googling homeless shelters near me. Is going to the hospital and telling them I'm homeless and need shelter

The Wednesday pantry starts at 9:00 am and the Saturday pantry starts around 1pm.
There is no waiting list for cornerstone you have to go through 311 in order to be placed and they might put u anywhere in Chicago if you get placed at cornerstone you are assigned a caseworker and the caseworker helps u with housing/ your other needs

No. All minors must be accompanied by a parent.
