Too many chiefs. The director of 402 n stlouis Ave. Needs to take a sensitivity class I've been here 6 months. Being observant seeing for myself I've noticed that the Director # Nicki as her name she never has introduced herself. But I've seen everything that is directed is negative. Nothing up lifting comes from her. It's always a command. Do this Do that. Don't get me wrong I been help a lot by breakthrough but her attitude could use some adjustments. # mean spirited

Yes, I believe so.
This reads like a review, but you posted it under the question and answer section, not as a review. Perhaps you'd care to fix that?
Alexis you can go to 10 S.Kedzie or wherever there is a Department of human services and ask for a referral to Breakthrough ministries 3330 S.Carroll...Its an all day shelter for single women. You may stay for 6 months or longer as long as you are looking for work and housing. You do have chores, you eat 3 times a day,and there is a Doctor that comes twice a week. Its a safe haven and very clean.

Some shelters are restricted to zipcode, the one in Evanston only takes locals, breakthrough has no restrictions but the beds fill up, apply and get yourself on the list
They have a family complex just or google it I'm sure they do.
Any shelter for moms w babies
You'll need to call them and ask. They generally don't see these questions.
First thing u gotta do is go to 10S.Kedzie room 200 and get a homeless letter, once u get that then go to BREAKTHROUGH with ID and get and interview, and if there is a bed available they will give it to you, if not u will be put on the waiting list but they will try and find u shelter for the night! That's all I can tell u of course the women's shelter is probably the same process!
I dont work at Breakthrough but i am there frequently. There is a family plex as well so its worth calling to inquire. I will be there todsy and will try to find out.
Tuesday 2 to 4 Thursday 10 to 2 Saturday 10 to 12 you need your ID and an envelope with ur name and address on it
Apply 4 ?
Yes 2 or 3 blocks away.
Yes. Go to 10 s kedzie Now and ask for a referral to breakthrough. She'll go for an intake interview and be put on a waitlist which will not be long. But start the process now because she wants to get on the list ASAP. They will give her a place to live with meals and lots of help with housing and other resources.
