Alexis you can go to 10 S.Kedzie or wherever there is a Department of human services and ask for a referral to Breakthrough ministries 3330 S.Carroll...Its an all day shelter for single women. You may stay for 6 months or longer as long as you are looking for work and housing. You do have chores, you eat 3 times a day,and there is a Doctor that comes twice a week. Its a safe haven and very clean.

Go to the Women's Center and get onto the waitlist. It's a transitional shelter that will help you build employment and housing as you stay in the program. You will need a referral letter of homelessness from 10 S Kedzie.
