May I bring small soft luggage or check it at museum?

I was inside with my school bag, they do check at the door

Actually, I just spoke to someone at the museum and small school backpacks are permitted.

I do not believe small luggage or back packs are allowed but check the MET website for complete info.

They just need to check your bag. Backpacks and purses are allowed. Small soft luggage are ok too.

A purse or other small personal items are allowed and will be inspected at the door after passing through a metal/security system. Check the Met website for size regulations.

Yes they will inspect your bags...and if I'm not mistaken you can check them in the coat check. But if your backpack or luggage is too big the guards will tell you to check it in, or in the case of backpacks, they will tell you to wear it in the front of your body !!
