No, just date specific. The current special exhibit, An Anthology of Fashion, is open to anyone with museum admission. There was a line for it when we went, but it moved relatively quickly.
The ticket doesn't have a set time but you do have to attend on the date on the ticket. Make sure you attend btwn 10am - 5pm
As far as I can tell from their web site, general admission tickets aren't timed; the one I bought didn't have a time associated with it; only a date.
