My son is having a pain level of 9 as I type this and after 6 hrs he was told to lay down on a couch. The nurse who answered the phone at the ER told us that is the best they could do and hang up on me. This is totally unprofessional.

You should be at the ER with your child and not calling on the phone. I can't agree nor disagree with the actions of the nurse. She may have thought you were trying to self diagnose your child by calling instead of bringing him. If your child's pain level is a 9 or 10, there's no reason to be on the phone with anyone

I agree take him to the hospital

Staff cannot provide advise over the phone. They’ll always tell you to come in.

He is a ER since 4 this afternoon. I am calling the ER to see why he has not been seen.

Take him to the Peds ED. Located on the first floor of the North tower.
