You have to have a credit card to reserve and put deposit on, but then pay with debit card upon return.
I used my debit card and it worked just fine. I also called ahead by three days, so that might make a difference.
Debit card requires a soft credit check. Soft credit checks don't go against your credit report
If you have debit they will check with the bank before, credit card will be faster and easier.
