Who is the zoo named after

Thanks for the info! My grandmother's maiden name was Robinson and they were from the Pittsfield area and I was just curious a out the name.

Henson Robinson came to Springfield IL in July 1858. He started in business in 1861 with a partner and soon bought his partner out. Then under his own name, operated until1890 when it became Henson Robinson Company. He died in 1900 but the company continues to this day.
