At the Abraham Lincoln Museum. Not at Illinois State Museum. ISM is basically geology, wildlife, native American history. ALM is your go to in Springfield for those types of docs
Unfortunately Illinois was under water during the age of dinosaurs. So there are none. But there are plenty of other fossils.

Hi, Theresa --The most reliable method is to contact a certified quilt appraiser. You can find one in your area at www.americanquilter.com/about_aqs/appraisers.php. These are people who've been specially trained. There's usually a fee involved in using their service. Also, you can watch for quilt shows in your area. They sometimes have an appraiser on hand, but that's going to be more hit and miss if you want to know something sooner rather than later.
It is an excellent resource for learning the natural history of Illinois, and its culture
It's not far at all your class will enjoy the museum it's so informative about our history, now it depends on what time you go there are a couple of free lots near by
There's free parking near by but its easiest to just pay to park under the old state Capitol.
You can park for free in the lot on weekends when the state offices are closed and there is no security guard.
