You can borrow traps from animal control; some vets offices lend them out; Pawmetto Lifeline and Pets, Inc. may lend out traps, or you can buy your own online, or at Tractor Supply for about $25. The traps are humane traps, and do not harm the cats, Elaine Taylor. It is not feasible to "send the cats to new homes" if they are feral. The best solution fir ferals is to trap them humanely and take them to be fixed. If you live within City if West Columbia, call Safe Cats Coalition - they have a website and Facebook page. They can help with trapping and will fix and return them free of charge. The City of Columbia and Richland County each have their own Community Cat programs to help with trapping and to fix free of charge. Pawmetto Lifeline handlea all feral and community cat spay neuter for Lexington county residents - see instructions on county website under animal services and in Pawmetto's website. Gary Gillion contact Purry Paws Rescue, Inc. in Lexington. They are awesome and firmly and compassionately believe in TNR (trap neuter or spay and release). This is humane and animals are not harmed but stops the overpopulation. I have had Jodi with Purry Paws help me with mine. She is amazing!
Lexington county will bring traps out for you to use so that they can be caught and fixed .. fixing them is the only way to help with population increase .. we had that problem when I was a kid and they were great about catching them and getting them fixed
Animal control will provide traps.
Take them to pawmetto and get them fixed. Might have to rent traps to catch them
