Awesome shaded park. My kids love it. The creek is relaxing, along with the big trees for shade, it's my " go to park " to relax my mind and take the kids.

Really just rode by but it looks like a nice park.

As a parent of a special needs child, I truly dispise this playground. My children want to play together, and with other children. To segregate the special needs kids to a tiny area away from all the other kids is awful. How is a parent to watch their able bodies children and their wheelchair users at the same time. Its almost impossible to get a wheelchair down through the rocky path to the other playground. I really hope when they do renovations, they create a space where all children can play together.

We also visited the Virginia Hylton Park in Lexington, SC this morning to get some additional steps in. It’s a tree-shaded park/playground that has a few ponds, gardens, creek, with a few gazebos. It’s directly behind the town of Lexington Police Department, and there is a parking lot right off of South Church street. The walking trail itself is made up of rubberized material and concrete. This park has a lot of uneven surfaces, so I would not recommend this park for older people. They have a few signs posted in the playground area, showing that the town of Lexington has plans on expanding this park over the next few years.

Good answer from G Watkins.
Sorry Amber! I just saw your question. No charge for parking! I cannot recall grills. I don't u would have to worry about reserving this time of year. Many options! GREAT FOR KIDS! One requirement - MUST HAVE FUN!!!!!
There is no signs saying you cannot.
Yes
i don't think so. This park primarily focuses on children, and walking with scenic views. You would be better off using Irmo park for workouts.
One is required to reserve the shelters/gazebos for any planned events. Refer to http://www.lexsc.com/Facilities/Facility/Details/Virginia-Hylton-Park-7
It is listed as a dog park on Google! Very misleading.
Yes to both! Our family loves to have parties here.
There is a small creek that I am sure they can play in. I think the other was a decorative something, sorry I can not help with that.
I have seen dogs in the stream in the back playing fetch with owner. Personally I never looked for signs myself.
