We have seen them in creek and down by swimming hole.Only a few,but they are hidden/camouflage
There are campsites that you can get that are backed up to a creek.
If you are referring to the "deep hole" gator hole that is famous in those area it is at Myakka River State Park. This park has one pond across the legacy trail that splits the park in two that can be considered a gator hole.
Not sure call & ask ... There ate gators everywhere in Florida... Good luck.
