Beautiful place to come walk around. I went with my friend and we explored the trails and ponds. It really is a nice place to just get away and relax.

Totally well cared for. Very good place to visit, photograph, coordinated weddings are welcome with authorized coordination, you can also take your fishing rod. You pay $5 to enter and across the street when you leave Washington Park, a beautiful beach awaits you to continue enjoying nature. The first parking payment covers the visit to that beach.

Beautiful place! Beautifully maintained. Not huge, so you can enjoy the entire area in a very reasonable time. First time here, with a friend who loves all various fors of plants and flowers. She loved it! Even the restroom facilities were super clean.

All these people who say no, haven't been to the picnic area. There is a nice playground with nearby restrooms, picnic pavilion and scattered picnic tables under the live oaks
Yes, there are lots of picnic tables, some covered and on a concrete slab. There's also restrooms and a playground by the picnic tables.
Washington Oaks Gardens State Park is open for day use activities (8am to sunset) based on limited capacity and is subject to closure once capacity has been reached. Visitors should expect limited hours, capacity and amenities during this time. Restroom availability may be limited beachside. If you visit us, please remember to check the Safety Updates webpage and practice social distancing during your visit. Visitors are expected to maintain distances of at least six (6) feet apart and limit group size to ten (10) or fewer people. To reduce risk, cash transactions are limited to exact change.
There are several trails throughout the park however, they are not paved. They are considered hiking trails.
Not 100% sure if this is allowed at the garden, however, the garden has a trail that connect with a rest/picnic area with lot of gazebo & grills. This gardens is wonderfull.
If you call ahead could be opened for you
Yes you can bring dogs. They must be leashed and this is only around the park. Dogs are not allowed on the beach and or in the big tree garden. But you can walk the dog around the park.
I checked their website (washingtonoaks.org) but it doesn't specify. You can call them at 386-446-6783. I just checked another site and found that the park is open from 8am to sundown, 365 days a year. Enjoy!
I know others have been married there but of course you have to set a date with them.
Yes. Not as much Coquina was exposed last time we were there, but it was still pretty cool.
A lot are still there they are burried under new fill sand
Katron, yes there are some fishing docks on the part of the park that backs into the intracoastal waterway.
It's a short and easy walk.
You just follow a path go through the Rose Garden follow the path all the way around it's at the very back and it's not really the ocean you were on the you can probably see the ocean but it's the matanzas river I think that's there and the intercoastal
Its open but you cannot walk down to the beach unless you use the entrance in the rv camping
No. But there are a few campgrounds a couple miles south of here.
Yes, leashed pets. Bring poop baggies - they're a must have ☺️ poop happens!
Yes you can paint there. Most artists that I have seen are in the main lane to the right of the entrance drive or near the main buildings. Some of the trails on the north side of the park were disappointedly closed last week.
It is usually in February.
The garden is mostly paved. There are dome steps without a wheelchair accessible entrance, but that is in the rose garden. The rest are flattened dirt.
Yes you can call the front desk,or stop by. I'm not sure how much though.
$5 per car up to eight people - If the ranger station is not manned the day you arrive, please use the HONOR BOX and deposit $5 cash into an envelope. Be sure to take the receipt portion and place it on your dash. https://www.floridastateparks.org/parks-and-trails/washington-oaks-gardens-state-park
When I was there Monday signs were posted saying plant sales were suspended temporarily.
Unfortunately, plant sales are currently postponed until further notice. Please refer to www.washingtonoaks.org/events.html for any updates or changes.
Unfortunately, you are not permitted on Park property until the park is officially opened. Feel free to visit Marineland Beach just North of Washington Oaks. There is a public beach access and large parking area that is not gated.
Mobility scooters are permitted on the trails but keep in mind they are natural based and there may be an occasional branch or root so keep an eye out on your trek. We look forward to having you visit soon!
Mosquitos can be nuisance all year long in Florida especially at the park where we are surrounded by water. We suggest bringing bug spray if you plan to visit.
Please inquire upon entry at the Ranger Station. The best area would be at the parking lot near the Pavilion/Picnic area. We do not permit parking on the road shoulders anywhere inside the park or along the road leading to the beach. Parking is NOT permitted along A1A (Oceanhsore Blvd).
There are condos about a quarter mile north of the park. They are not cheap but they have full access to the beaches and the parks (beach side and the gardens) are well withing walking distance.
Pets are permitted on the walking / hiking trails Pets are not permitted on the beach Pets are not permitted in the formal gardens Pets must be behaved at all times Pet owners are required to pick up after their pets and properly dispose of waste Pets must be under physical control of a person at all times Leashes may not exceed 6 feet in length
Not that I have seen.
It's quite close; less than a 20 minute drive. It's even a pretty drive along A1A
I don't think there are camp grounds more for picnics and other events
No - they only beach amenities are parking, toilet and beach ramp on Ocean side
Park open daily 8am-sunset Admission: $5 per vehicle
The beach side is open and a great place to explore tide pools.
Dogs are allowed in Washington oaks state park with the exception of the garden area.
Its part of the park. There's cool rocks made from shells called coquina rocks.
There are no boat docks at the Park. There is a dock at Bing's Landing just South of our Park.
Not sure about children's books but there is a gift shop
The Florida state parks office
I believe from the park entrance it is still closed. Some of the other access points are open.
Yes On the beach side.. Making repairs to the dunes and covering beach erosion.
Yes, and lovely benches. But, at times, there is a lot of boat traffic.
Sunrise to sunset. Beach side is closed due to storm damage. The garden side is open. Wear bug repellant!
Its open and just as nice as ever despite the fire.
Not that I saw. There is a ramp at Gamble Rigers north of Washington Oaks
Horses can be ridden at Moses Creek Preserve, 10 miles north on A1a and one mile west on SR 206.
$5 per vehicle. Pull up to the unmanned station, put money in envelope and detach the pass to put on your dash. The pass is also good for beach access across A1A.
Azalea,orange trees,camellia,some flowers
Limited tent camping at Moses Creek Conservation Area, East Access area, Route 206, just across the Matanzas River.
From the Florida State Parks website. All pets must be on a 6-foot leash and well behaved at all times. Pets may not be left unattended. You may walk your pet in the picnic area, along the bike trails, and hiking trails but not in the gardens or on the beach. Service animals are allowed in all areas of the park.
They do weddings , I believe the prices and number of people allowed per area are written on the website.
State park should always have access, gift shop probably will be closed
$5 per vehicle for parking. The beach side is closed due to damage during hurricane Irma.
