Its a designated area for swiming.
It is safe to swim in the artificial lake, in the designated area. The water is open, there are no floating vegetation that could be hiding place for gators. Occasional gator visitors would be moved by the animal rescue service.
Honestly, I don't swim there and I've been there a few times. This is Florida and there's alligators wherever there is water. But I will say this is my second favorite Park in florida. And I love that it's so close to the beach
Hello Dawn, at Oscar Scherer there is a dedicated swimming area that is checked regularly. It is fenced off for protection. As swiming in the river during this time of year I would avoid. Due to Gators mating.
