What is the parking like here? Is there only valet?

Valet only, would suggest public transportation or cab/uber to get to the hotel.

I parked in a lot a couple of blocks away because it only has expensive valet.

There's plenty of street parking with meters. If you get up early or use an app, it works out. There's also many lots nearby that have overnight options.

One block up fron the valet is a US bank sign hanging off a 3 story parking garage that is 20$ overnight

There are 2 options, valet or self parking ina nearby parking structure. Self parking is cheaper.
