The waterfall is about a mile in. Many people turn around after that. You can keep going to the 'meadow' which is about 2.6 miles up making it 5.2 miles round trip. It is steep, particularly after the waterfall, so plan extra time vs an easy trail. My distances came from my GPS tracking so they don't quite match published trail distance.
Depends how far you go. I only go to the where the creek comes around the cliff face usually. To there it's only an hour both ways. I think it gets a bit tougher past that point.
About an hour and a half is usually how long it takes me to hike it. But I usually don't go as far as I could. It gets harder the longer you go
I get it done in less than 2 hours with an 8 year old.
