Dear Sir, Refugee applications are processed by the Restricted Visas Unit and Refuge of the General Directorate of Immigration and Immigration located in La Uruca. (Door No. 2). Interested persons must follow a process and meet certain requirements to manage the application, which are detailed below: 1. Be in Costa Rica 2. Express your desire to be a refugee 3. Request an appointment for refuge, you can do it at the border posts or through the call center 1311 from a Kolbi phone or a public one 4. Come to the appointment where the person will fill out a form and be assigned an appointment for the eligibility interview. 5. On the day of the first appointment assigned by telephone, you must attend the Commission for Restricted Visas and Refugee in migration, La Uruca at door No. 2 where you will be given a short oral interview to see if your case is valid to opt For the shelter, be prepared, tell the truth and if you have proof documents.
