If you paddle Upstream, to the right after leaving the landing, the water is crystal clear and in most places very shallow. We were told it was higher than normal because it had just rained a lot recently. If you go Downstream from King's Landing, it's more of a marsh and is where we saw the gator at. Although they said the water was higher than normal, I don't think I saw any spots where it would have gone over my head. I'm 5ft 5in.

Very safe

Most places you could stand up but if you don't know how to swim then you should definitely plan to wear a PFD as there is a current and there is no life guard. King's landing requires that you sign a waiver which protects them for safety reasons. If you disregard the terms of the waiver then it is at your own risk
