The place everyone takes pictures at is to the right after you exit the canoe launch canal. You have to paddle up stream. It's called the emerald cut. It goes on for about 1 mile up stream. That water is very clear with a shallow Sandy bottom. Most of the rest of the run is darker
Whenever it rains a lot, the water level rises here and that's when you can experience darker water even if you paddle upstream. The best time to guarantee blue water is during any dry period. Typically early Winter and during Spring. Most Summers stay blue it just depends on how rainy it gets during hurricane season
The water is mainly blue heading towards the state park if you went on a day after heavy rain the sides of the water have been washed down into it making the water tan try in a few weeks if thats the caae
