if the dog is part of your life/family to keep the remembrance,In my opinion i would have him/her Cremated. I did it when my Feline passed I had her cremated an presently she's in the living room on a glass table with a Candle and a picture of her in a crystal tray😢🙏😇
Take it to the apca they take care of it for a fee
