If you're counting on them to be forthcoming with you're money, expect a wait. When I traded in my car, they kept my $8,000 payoff on my car for almost four weeks before sending off to Nissan finance. When I called and asked them why they had not sent it in, they told me not to worry about the collections calls, they really weren't going to turn me over to the credit bureau. That really wasn't my concern, when the payment was only a few weeks late. What was my concern was the last call from the finance division coming in at 8:30 on a Sunday morning.
