We were on the first bus so no waiting and a nice ride.
There was almost no line. But again, we went there during cold December.

Reservations are no longer required. You simply line up at the main center area for the "Bus Tours".

Actually with your general admissions ticket to the Space Center, you just walk to the bus line (the arrived constantly) and then will take you to the Saturn V site. You will get go through a tour of NASA's history and Apollo 8 launch. Afterwards you'll see the Saturn V.
I was there last week. No reservations. Very long line but it moved very quick. 15 to 20 minutes max. They are Chick-fil-A fast with the lines.
I was just there 2 weeks ago, no reservations required.
Medium slow but still best to book an hour or so in advance.
