I need a copy of my marriage certificate to file for divorce, however I now in in England (UK). So wanted to know if I have to travel to the U.S in person to request for a copy?

You could have a friend do it. Just need to know your names and date of marriage.

No, you should be able to order the records by mail, or by calling. There is probably a fee for mailing. Also, you could employ an attorney to retrieve it for you.

Thank you. I read somewhere that the only way is to visit the courthouse where the marriage took place to request for it in person and it should take a few minutes. Do you know the phone number to call?
