The business owners people of Columbus deal with this. While tax money goes where for homelessness?

It is a shame what is happening to disabled people in Columbus GA. I watched an elderly women struggling to get her garbage can off the side of the road. Her yard waste was not picked up because her husband put the leaves in bags, then in the can, because it is convenient for him. I am a retired nurse and is disabled myself, but I helped her so she would not fall. She said her husband was a veteran. It broke my heart because my dad was a 25 year veteran. If you are military request not to be stationed at Ft. Benning. The crime rate is high and your garbage and yard waste could be left on the side of the road for weeks.

I would like to invite the Mayor to come to our apartment any day of the week So that he can hear first hand the amount of extremely loud motorcycles that rev up and down High St. Last night it lasted from 6pm until midnight. Every couple of minutes. IT NEVER STOPPED! You would not believe it! These people are not shopping, eating in restaurants or supporting the Arts District, In fact they are doing the opposite. It's so loud and so Ghetto That I am ashamed to call Columbus my home If there is nothing we can do about it.

Why tax people if you don’t even use the taxes for something beneficial? Can’t even fix a single pothole? Where are the funds going?

Questions & Answers

Why are you letting them remove Christopher Columbus statue. That is the stupidest thing that you could let happen. You have no right or reason for this.

Good question

Please help me to understand as a citizen of the City of Columbus why the statue of Christopher Columbus is being removed from City Hall. It makes no sense to me . What gives you the right?

Why don't the people, and I mean a majority of people, get a chance to decide the removal or nonremoval of the statue. Sounds like the mayor's office let's a few bullies call the shots.

Why is the Hilltop community so drastically underserved by the Columbus police department?? Why can't extra officers be added to this district if crime is so high? Does the mayor have a plan for dealing with this? Discouraged home owner.

Police department is under staffed. Crime is going up. Police officers are not treated well

Why are our police officers being treated so poorly? I just watched a video of them towing someone’s car bc it wasn’t registered and a mob of people come up to them and start screaming and pointing in his face. Don’t tell our officers to stand down.

Respect is no longer taught to young people. Many people don't want to rake personal responsibility for their actions. It is no wonder police officers are leaving.
