There is no estate; my bank needs a Letter of Authority in order for me to access my late husband's bank account, which is in his name only. I was advised to go to Probate Court w/certified copy of Death Cert & I would be granted Ltr of Authority.

I agree with Michael. You cannot get a letter of authority by just showing a death certificate. You need to open an estate. Also, if there are children of your late husband, they may be entitled to a share.

You need that letter, you will probably have to open an estate even if its no administration
