Glenn, the L in Jeep Grand Cherokee L is used to let you know that this is a longer model of the Grand Cherokee. The extra length is used for a third row of seats, as opposed to the standard two rows. With the third-row seating you can fit all of your passengers comfortably! You may even have an excessive amount of space.
