I have had best viewing on a sunset watch, whales feed late afternoon early evening and I had amazing shots last year I uploaded 100 pictures of whales last watch I was on to google guide

We prefer early morning, before the wind and waves come up.

I took the 10:00AM and we saw them within 35 minutes. Just beyond the lighthouse. We could see the coast , 3 miles off. Multiple Humpbacks, Pilots, Minkes. Seals as well.
We went during the early afternoon and it was perfect. Just go!
Any time really but I like the sunset cruise myself
