April through October. I went at the end of April and saw a ton of sperm whales.
There are whales who are photographed and have names. I couldn't believe that we can follow the whales we saw from the vessel....you can Google and follow photos that various oceanographers upload of the named whales. I remember one named Salt. The first time I went, the power and sheer magnificence of these beings is overwhelming, and it is a memory that has never faded. I have gone many times, and on various vessels and the thrill is still incomparable. This is a great choice to go with these people. They are top shelf. They know their stuff. They bring you close enough to see but in a way as to keep both whales and boat safe. I plan to go again this Summer. I also tell people who visit the Cape to make time to do this. They will carry this experience for a lifetime.
Dolphin Fleet operates mid-April til the end of October. How many whales you see is a matter of whether the food that attracts the whales is present - so no certain days to see them; but Dolphin has the best record of finding them.
We always saw a lot in September, but the captains are really knowledgeable on the whereabouts of the whales at any time
We saw them in oct
We were in Providence the first week of October. Saw an amazing amount of whales although we were told that they were already beginning their migration.
April thru October I've gome in July and have seen several types of whales and dolphins
Great whale watch. Messed up our photos that seemed suspicion.
Best time is August
In spring or fall...that is when they migrate.
