Actually Joelle nailed it. BARCS is pretty sloppy so it's best to go in person and prepare to be there for a while. Information changes frequently.

Yes they are given an assessment, and there are several enrichment activities where dogs get to interact with each other. I believe a meet & greet is possible before you adopt but your best bet for more information is actually going in, the shelter is a very busy place and information can change minute to minute. Also tjeybhave few phone lines and few people answering the phones, calling is unreliable, in person is much preferred
