Everything in 2020 is expensive...keeping animals and staff healthy weither you come or not is expensive. You are bring your offspring close to life...not a book...not a movie nut real life. More than memories you are bonding and learning together about animals...where they are from and what the eat ect. To save money...bring your own food...snacks...water and dine together. I think its a great family outing..enjoy and give up your Starbucks for the family fun.
Yes. The kids had a great time and great memories. It was worth the cost. It was really fun for the kids to be able to do something that felt normal. They really enjoyed the animals and the staff was very friendly. The zoo had great social distancing policies. We spent around $130 for the entrance, food, and drinks. If we ate before we got there, it only would have been around $60 for the 5 of us-no charge for the baby. We didn't look into a senior discount. Some areas are closed, like the reptile area (I didn't miss going there) and shows where people would need to be too close together. I do suggest that you buy a water bottle to keep you hydrated while in the zoo. I think that was around $8. It was refillable all day for no additional charge. You could fill it with water or soda. We chose water. We did buy 2 animal straws with lunch.
In short, Yes it is worth it. And if it is in the budget, we got the membership, which we have seen the animals a couple more times with our kids.
