Uber or Lyft is the way to go. It's about half the price of a taxi
Uber is the best. If not, Super Shuttle is a good choice, and in SD it's not expensive.
They do not offer a shuttle. Your bet bet is to take an Uber from the upper level ride sharing areas at LAX. If you are looking to go cheaper follow the signs to public transportation and take the bus to downtown. I do not frequent the bus in LA so i cannot give you any bus route information however it can be found at the terminal.
